The Industrial Hygiene Program Manager (PrM) is responsible for developing program goals, leading business development activities, and ensuring that all project deadlines are met by program staff. The PrM also conducts routine meetings and communicates daily with staff discussing project issues, coordinating schedules, and maintaining solid client relations through quality project performance. The PrM reviews all deliverables produced by program personnel and implements administrative procedures that meet company policy, procedures, SOPs, and standard practices. This includes review, critique, and production of complex technical project reports, in addition to ensuring that all contractual requirements and risk management issues within the program are met. The PrM supervises all invoicing to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery to clients. The PrM is also responsible for various business development activities that include networking, professional meeting attendance, and collaboration with the other IHI managers. In addition, the PrM is the initial point of contact for large proposals and new clients of the Industrial Hygiene Program.
The candidate preferably will have 8+ years of experience working in the Environmental, Health, and Safety field. A Bachelors degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational & Environmental Health, Physical Science, or Chemistry is required; a Master’s degree in a similar field is preferred. Current American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) registration as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is required. Current Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) registration as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable. The candidate must have an extensive knowledge of industrial process analysis, chemical hazard evaluations, employee exposure risk assessments, noise and ventilation assessments, and OSHA rules and regulations governing worker exposures. The ability to evaluate technical methodology and analytical results, while also producing high-level technical documentation is critical to this position. The Project Manager (PM) is directly responsible for proposal preparation and the coordination of technical projects. This includes staffing, scheduling, deliverables, communication, progress reporting, project performance, report preparation, budgets, and cost accounting. The PM supervises 5-10 small/medium-sized projects at a time or larger projects staffed with multiple IHI personnel. The PM produces template reports with little supervision, incorporating a working knowledge of rules and regulations, in addition to the correct methodology and analysis required. The PM communicates regularly with clients maintaining strong relationships through effectively identifying client needs and expectations.
Qualifications: The candidate preferably will have 3+ years of experience working in the Environmental, Health, and Safety field. A Bachelors degree in Industrial Hygiene or Occupational & Environmental Health is preferred, as is current EPA AHERA certifications as Inspector and Contractor/Supervisor. IHI also prefers that the candidate have a desired career track as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). The candidate must have a clear knowledge and experience with projects involving industrial hygiene assessments for OSHA compliance, indoor air quality, and emergency response coordination. The candidate must also have a solid understanding of NIOSH and OSHA sampling methods, the proper use of sampling equipment and selection of sampling media.
